Release Control

Through the Release of Control Lies True Freedom

Convert away from Perfectionism

For the longest time in my life, I’ve had perfectionist tendencies. Thinking this was a good thing, I pushed myself further and further to the limits, not realizing the underlying issue; my tight and suffocating grasp of control. This tight grasp to control had me living in fear; fear of failure. And in the end, I was burnt out. Exhausted, and unfruitful.

Sure, maybe the outside looked great. Or so that’s what I desired. It never was. The more i pushed myself to perfection…the more detached I became from my soul. My true desires, and my passions. In fact, the need to be perfect made be become a prisoner to pleasing anyone…but myself.

Perfectionism has one common side effect: it’s paralyzing. If you’re too deep into the weeds of it, you can feel like you’re walking on eggshells; any wrong move can be intimidating.

WHY?

Why place this pressure upon ourselves? It’s not helping… it’s hurting us. And on top of that, the disconnect from your body, your true passions, and your desires…truly dim your fullest potential. THIS part now…I didn’t realize until I started experimenting and playing around with fluidity and the release of control.

Have the Courage to Release

The anecdote then, to perfectionism, is releasing control. Allowing circumstances to happen. Doing so brings you to a very power state. When you’re faced with the unknown, your body has no choice but to become present. Through presence, we can truly observe and respond most effectively for the very moment—not responding based off of presumptions and beliefs in our head (which are not always the reality).

There’s only so much we truly can control. No matter how much we think we got it all together, life is highly unpredictable. Why live in these chains? Unleash your true power and release.

What happens when you let go?

You have no choice but to adapt. And through adaptation, comes growth.

Releasing control indeed, is getting out of your comfort zone. And one takeaway that is guaranteed is…you will gain new information–information that challenges your current beliefs and breaks rigid ways of thinking.

LEFT OFF HERE!!

And the result? A newfound confidence.

I walk away feeling proud. Bolder. Happier. Even when the situation went poorly.

The greatest lesson I can offer to the world is, to embrace the messiness. Embrace the uncertainty.

No, you’re not going to have it all figured out. Hardly ever. Make moves anyway. With the little bit of clarity that you do have.

In the present moment, what feels like the best step to take?

As long as there is movement, there is progress.

You can’t lose—you truly can’t. You can only gain.

Courage

I dream of living fearlessly. With complete boldness. I want to arrive at the end of my life with no regrets.

Life is way too short. It is passing us by much quicker than we believe.

EVERY moment matters.

Life will move you in different directions than planned, most of the time. That is the beauty of it.

Your only responsibility is to innovate, to make your own decisions, to dictate where you will head next–what actions will be taken.

If things don’t go as planned, roll with it. Accept it. Think of a new strategy.

Stop trying to figure it all out, and start living. The future begins to build itself as you move and create.

Ultimately, you are responsible for creating each moment of the day.

Become flexible. Become adaptive. This makes you unstoppable.

Detachment from Outcome

Work with what you got. Right now, at this very moment.

No matter what life throws at you, you make it work. You can pivot, think on your toes, and the best part is, you can finally release control.

You’ve made it this far in your life. When unfortunate events happened, you worked through it. You’ve made it happen. And you will continue to do this.

You are no longer plagued by the discomfort of rigidity and control.

You are now free and allowed to be happy.

Let go of the Past

I encourage you today, to release your past. Who you were and what you did; none of it matters now.

You are free.

One mindset that’s been helping me lately is the assurance of knowing that everything can be figured out.

Everything is scary…until it’s faced.

Your mind is a natural problem-solver, all it wants to do is figure things out.

So, put it to the test. Challenge yourself. Jump into the unknown. When you’re physically there, you adjust, immediately.

If you’re having a hard time being bold, start small. Build up some momentum, and prove to yourself daily, that you are completely capable of overcoming obstacles. You can face fear and come out the other end smarter, stronger, and more refined.

I hope this can resonate with you today, and power you to be bold and courageous.

Remember, no one is going to live this life for you. I encourage you to release control.

Life is too short.
